 Suffrage Centennial Tea

Step back in time with on November 7, 2010 at the Suffrage Centennial Tea sponsored by AAUW-WA.

Hear the voices of women as they anticipate the outcomes of the votes cast by their fathers, husbands and brothers on that 1910 Election Day.

The suffrage referendum would impact their lives and turn the tide for the movement all over the nation. You will also hear the voices

of women whose voting rights would have to wait even longer.  This historic event will come alive at the reenactment

of a Pink Tea, which were held as fronts for suffrage activities in the early 1900’s.

The tea will be held at the Lord Mansion (the home of the Capitol Museum) at 211 21st Avenue, Olympia Washington, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

AAUW members are encouraged to attend in period attire.   A suffrage exhibit and the tea will be free and open during the hours of this event.
